چکیده

Quantum-mechanical phase-space distributions, introduced by Wigner in 1932, provide an intuitive alternative to the usual wave-function approach to problems in scattering and reaction theory. The aim of the present work is to collect and extend previous efforts in a unified way, emphasizing the parallels among problems in ordinary quantum theory, nuclear physics, chemical physics, and quantum field theory. The method is especially useful in providing easy reductions to classical physics and kinetic regimes under suitable conditions. Section II, dealing in detail with potential scattering of a spinless nonrelativistic particle, provides the background for more complex problems. Following a brief description of the two-body problem, the authors address the N-body problem with special attention to hierarchy closures, BoltzmannVIasov equations, and hydrodynamic aspects. The final section sketches past and possibly future applications to a wide variety of problems.

Squeezed States and Particle Production in High Energy Collisions

Using the ‘quantum optical approach’ we propose a model of multiplicity distributions in high energy collisions based on squeezed coherent states. We show that the k-mode squeezed coherent state is the most general one in describing hadronic mulitiplicity distributions in particle collision processes, describing not only pp collisions but e+e−, νp and diffractive collisions as well. The reason ...

فرمولبندی هندسی کوانتش تغییرشکل برزین

In this paper we try to formulate the Berezin quantization on projective Hilbert space P(H) and use its geometric structure to construct a correspondence between a given classical theory and a given quantum theory. It wil be shown that the star product in berezin quantization is equivalent to the Posson bracket on coherent states manifold M, embodded in P(H), and the Berezin method is used to...

Multiplicity Distributions in Strong Interactions: a Generalized Negative Binomial Model

A three-parameter discrete distribution is developed to describe the multiplicity distributions observed in totaland limited phase space volumes in different collision processes. The probability law is obtained by the Poisson transform of the KNO scaling function derived in Polyakov’s similarity hypothesis for strong interactions as well as in perturbative QCD, ψ(z) ∝ zα exp(−zμ). Various chara...

Heavy-Ion Collisions and Black Holes in Anti-de-Sitter Space

Recent developments linking non-perturbative quantum gauge theories in Minkowski space to classical gravity theories in anti-de-Sitter space are reviewed at a simple level. It is suggested how these spectacular advances may be extended to discuss the quark-gluon phase transition in terms of black holes in anti-de-Sitter space, with possible relevance to heavy-ion collisions.

Quantum-like Classical Mechanics in Non-commutative Phase Space

Quantum-like evolution laws for observables can be derived from classical Hamiltonian equations with the only additional assumption that the phase space is non-commutative. The derivation is possible for Hamiltonians that are polynomial functions in position and momentum variables, and supports the use of phase space distributions functions in both quantum and classical theories that rely on ex...
